Yew Tree farm can be found nestling in the heart of Rosthwaite Village. Deep in the spectacular Borrowdale Valley the 2000 acre farm raises over 2000 Herdwick sheep on the high fells, and provides a haven from the trials and tribulations of modern life. Even a short stay with Hazel and Joe will help the stresses of today's hectic existence just melt away as you start to live life the way it should be lived, slow, easy and laid-back.
There are numerous beautiful walks where the only sounds are nature's chorus and the gentle bleating of contented, well fed Herdwicks, and a quiet evening stroll will end with a restful night in one of the three luxury en-suite rooms. Each of the rooms is tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with the age of the building. Yew Tree Farm is a No Smoking residence and we don't allow dogs in the house, but can accomodate your pet in one of the outbuildings.
After a peaceful night's sleep, indulge yourself with a freshly cooked, full Cumbrian breakfast, which includes our famous Herdwick sausages and Cumbrian Bacon, and with packed lunches (and evening meals available very near by) we guarantee to set you up for the day ahead, whatever you have planned. There is ample parking for three cars, and the village store, which sells just about everything, is only 500 yards down the road. There are no televisions in any of the guest rooms at Yew Tree, so conversation with your fellow guests or a quiet evening spent reading or planning tomorrows activities are the order of the day.
